Kindergarten Open House

What a cute picture of Bella and Daddy.

Welcome to Mrs. Huff's Kindergarten classroom. As I looked around the room, I couldn't believe all the stuff that she had. All I could see is floor to ceiling bins, and shelves full of stuff as well as every inch of wall space covered in stuff. Isn't that distracting?

Picture of the Day

We went to the Arboretum and outside the Butterfly House was a large butterfly chair. The girls rushed to sit down first, so that they could have their picture taken in the chair. What a cute picture of the three of them, I thought. We put little man on the chair and as you can see, the first thing he did was start climbing.

Last Swim Lesson Until Next Year

Ready, Set,

Go!
I didn't quite get the action shot I wanted. If only I had an SLR. However, I did catch her hand above the water. I'm just glad that she jumped in and went under by herself.

Getting ready to push off the wall and float on her back.

Floating on her back with her toe pointed in true Bella fashion.
Swimming across the pool with her face in the water.

Boonshoft: Children's Museum

Dan took Charlotte to a special Dragon Event at the end of July and wanted to go back for more. When I downloaded the pictures, Dan actually asked me if I had posed the picture next to the Bad Dragons This Way. I didn't, really.
Alexander was a puppet in the puppet show.

Who's afraid of the big bad wolf, the big a bad wolf? Not Alexander.
The evil daddy dragon grabbed the fairy by her hair.

Xander the fearless knight.
In one of the theaters, we watched part of a 25 minute space presentation via this suspended sphere that changed pictures with the narration. To our suprise, none of the kids were afaid of the dark, and we actually stayed in the theater for a good 10 minutes.

A picture showing Antartica Hi, my name is Joe and I work in a button factory.

One day my boss said, "Hey Joe, can you push this button?" "Sure."
We would still be there watching him push that button, had we not dragged him away kicking and screaming.

Thanks for pimpin' my ride!

How many clowns can fit in a car? Charlotte has become a giant sea turtle.

The Pediatrican's Office Knows Me Too Well

You know when you walk in the the pediatrician's office and the woman at the reception desk asks you, "Which one is it this time." Really she is refering to 2 of my 3 children. Charlotte has escaped the mulitple visits to the doctor's office as she has been healthy for the most part.

As I wiped Xander's hands after breakfast today, I noticed that he had a rash on the palm of his hand. Looking at it I thought, "that is not normal." I glanced at the clock and it was exactly 8:00am. Good. I can call the doctor's office and be the first one to talk to a nurse. After I talked with the nurse, and I spotted a patch of rash on the sole of his foot, she suggested it was Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus. I stupidly (ok not a word, but it works) made an appointment with the doctor only to confirm that is what he had, and that it would have to run it's course with no treatment. Fabulous. I just spent $20.00 to confirm what the nurse had told me because I did not ask the right question, like can it be treated? I not only wasted money but time dragging 3 kids to the doctor's. My girls never had HFM, so I didn't know what to expect. It is times like these that I feel like a first time mom.

Race Day at the Mill

Our subdivision every year races children's toys down one of our streets. It is a big affair. There are mulitple divisions. It starts out with adult women racing big wheels, then men, teen girls, teen boys, elementry girls and elementry boys. Safety note: all drivers wore wore helmets. Then there is the semi-modified division and then the modified division. We didn't know about it until our neigbors, who were participating, asked us if we were going to enter or at least watch. We did get to watch a little, although we had a prior committement so we didn't get to see all of the races. Dan is all about entering next year. Not just the big wheel race, but the either the semi or completely modified division.

You know this is serious stuff when there are trophies as prizes.

15 months

Our little man is growing up and getting more adventureous. His new name in monkey punkins. He will attempt to climb anything, and often is successful. I usually bring the camera to the doctor's office, and have a cute picture of him on the scale, but I forgot this time. Maybe at his 18 month appointment I'll remember. Anyway, he is now 33"(90%) and 22 lbs (25%)
