Still suprised that we haven't been to the ER
Xander was particularly unhappy about going to bed last night. Not long after Dan and I got comfy on the couch to watch TV, we heard a thud. "What was that?" Dan asked. " I don't know?" I replied. Dan went upstairs and our dear sweet boy managed to hurl himself out of his crib and was laying on the floor crying. What was truly amazing was that he was in a sleep sack. I am not ready to have him in a big boy bed because unless he was strapped down, he would not stay in a bed.

I am suprised that we haven't been to the ER yet
Xander is a little over 19 months and is fearless to say the least. I know that this is "normal" boy behavior, although it still surprised by some of his antics. However, today was not one of those days. I expected the reaction, but not the consequence.
We went the fairgrounds for our second round of H1N1 vaccines for the kids. This time the wait was considerable less by 2 hours. As we waited in line, we filled out the appropiate paperwork and tried to keep little man entertained. Old wood tables with a metal strips around the edge lined the perimeter of where we stood for sometime. Little man thought he was being cute and grabbed a hand full of papers off a table. As I neared him, of course he threw the papers on the floor. As he ran away from me, he peaked over his shoulder to see if I was chasing him. He thought this was a was a game. Becuse he didn't look where he was going, he smacked right into the edge of one of the tables. He just so happened to be just at the right height to hit the metal stripping around the edge of the table. The collateral damage: a gash above his eye, scrapes below his eye and rug burn on his chin. Had the gash been any worse he would have gone to the ER for 2-3 stiches. The worst part was that he still hadn't had his shot yet. Interesting enough he didn't cry too much when he got it. I'm sure his head still hurt.
